Garden Sculptures
Nature is a persistent hero.
Add elements of durable and low maintenance sculpture to your outdoor living spaces.
Metal, stone, and concrete are highly weather-resistant and require minimal upkeep, making them ideal for permanent outdoor installations.
The visual contrast from metal, stone, and concrete provide a beautiful counterpoint to the soft, colorful, and ever-changing organic forms of plants, flowers, and foliage.
Sweet Gum Pod Sphere
Spherical sculpture made from various natural stones or textured concrete, with individual "spikes" integrated into the surface, mimicking the sweet gum pod's texture and prickly charm. You may find an individual pod setting alone or have a clusters of these Sweet Gum Pods in various sizes (2 feet high to 4 feet high) within a garden mirror how these seeds tumble from the trees and congregate in small groupings.
Tulip Tree Pod Oculi
Crafted from various natural stones or layered concrete. The overall form holds the distinct, splayed shape of the open tulip tree seed pod. The petals of the pod are created using stone segments, giving it a textural appearance. At the center where the pod's core is, a circular opening, echoing the 'Seed’s Eye'. This opening would allow glimpses of the garden beyond, making the sculpture an interactive frame for its surroundings. Size in height may be created from 5 feet to 7 feet in height.
Floating Maple Seed Mobile
A kinetic sculpture, in polished stainless steel or weathered Corten, where individual oversized maple seeds are suspended from delicate, arcing rods, allowing them to gently turn and sway in the breeze. Reflective surfaces of stainless steel mimic the sheen of fresh seeds, while Corten would give them an earthy, autumnal feel. Maple Seeds are grouped in hanging clusters, resembling how they hang from the tree. Size in height may be created from 7 feet to 9 feet in height.
Maple Seed Planting
Individual oversized seeds created in polished stainless steel or weathered Corten. They vary in height from 4 to 7 feet. This placement mimics how falling maple samara group in stream like clusters when they fall and land belly or nutlet down and wings up.
Typha Dispersal - Building on the idea of emergence, a cluster of elongated cattail bodies, rendered in weathered Corten steel or even a smooth, dark-toned concrete. They vary in height from 4 to 6 feet, appearing to sprout from the ground. Some might be fully formed, while others could show individual seeds peeling away, suggesting the process of seed dispersal. This would create a dynamic, sculptural grouping in contrast to a cityscape or urban setting.
